New Salt Cave Class: Healing Sound Bath

A healing sound bath class is a meditative and therapeutic experience that combines sound and mindfulness practices to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and enhance overall well-being. Participants lie down or sit in a comfortable position while our instructor plays Tibetan singing bowls. These instruments emit soothing and harmonious sounds that are believed to have healing effects on the mind, body, and spirit.

Here's what you can expect in a healing sound bath class:

  1. Setting: The class is conducted in our beautiful pink Himalayan salt cave. The space is dimly lit and cool; participants are encouraged to wear comfortable warm clothing. Yoga mats, blankets, or cushions are provided.

  2. Guidance: The facilitator typically begins by providing some guidance on relaxation and deep breathing. They may also share a brief introduction to the instruments used in the session.

  3. Sound Immersion: The facilitator then begins to play the instruments, creating a rich tapestry of sounds. Participants are encouraged to close their eyes, relax, and let go of stress and tension while allowing the sounds to wash over them.

  4. Meditation and Mindfulness: Throughout the session, participants may be guided in mindfulness and meditation techniques. These practices help individuals connect with the present moment and deepen their relaxation.

  5. Physical and Emotional Benefits: Advocates of sound baths claim that the vibrations and frequencies produced by the instruments can help reduce anxiety, promote a sense of calm, release physical tension, balance energy centers (chakras), and improve overall well-being.

  6. Community and Sharing: After the sound bath, there's often an opportunity for participants to share their experiences or ask questions. This creates a sense of community and support among those attending the class.

Healing sound baths are rooted in ancient traditions and are often associated with practices like Tibetan sound healing and meditation. While scientific research on their healing effects is limited, many people find them to be a deeply relaxing and rejuvenating experience.

Alpha-Lipoic Acid: Antioxidant to Help Restore Smell and Taste

Alpha-lipoic acid (ALA) is a natural compound that functions as a coenzyme in various metabolic reactions in the body. It's often referred to as an antioxidant due to its ability to neutralize harmful free radicals and support cellular health. ALA is both water-soluble and fat-soluble, which allows it to work in different cellular environments.

Key points about alpha-lipoic acid include:

  1. Antioxidant Properties: One of the primary functions of ALA is its role as an antioxidant. It can help protect cells from oxidative stress by neutralizing free radicals, which are unstable molecules that can damage cells and DNA.

  2. Energy Production: ALA is involved in the production of energy within cells. It plays a crucial role in the mitochondria, often referred to as the cell's "powerhouses," where it helps convert glucose into energy through a process called cellular respiration.

  3. Regeneration of Other Antioxidants: ALA has the unique ability to regenerate other antioxidants like vitamins C and E, as well as glutathione. This means that after these antioxidants have neutralized free radicals, ALA can restore them to their active forms, enhancing their effectiveness.

  4. Blood Sugar Regulation: Some research suggests that ALA might have a positive impact on blood sugar levels. It may improve insulin sensitivity and glucose metabolism, making it potentially beneficial for people with type 2 diabetes.

  5. Neurological Support: There's some evidence to suggest that alpha-lipoic acid might have neuroprotective properties. It could potentially help with conditions such as neuropathy (nerve damage) and cognitive decline.

  6. Smell and Taste Restoration: Alpha-lipoic acid stimulates nerve growth factor, substance P, and neuropeptide. Hummel et al evaluated the efficacy of alpha-lipoic acid for the treatment of post-viral olfactory dysfunction. 61% of patients experienced a significant improvement in olfactory function taking 600mg/day (average duration 4.5 months.)

Alpha-lipoic acid is part of our Antioxidant Drip and can be added to any of our other IV drips.

Detox with Ballancer®Pro Lymphatic Drainage

The lymphatic system removes excess fluids from the body’s tissue, absorbs fatty acids, and produces immune cells, working with white blood cells to prevent harm from cancer cells, fungi, viruses, and bacteria.

Lymph movement is essential to a healthy lymphatic system.  When the lymphatic system is not draining properly, patients experience swelling, bloating, fatigue, and an increased risk of infection. Lymph movement slows with a sedentary lifestyle and after an illness with prolonged rest. In more severe cases, lymphedema can result and is an accumulation of excessive lymph fluid in the subcutaneous tissues, occurring in up to 30% of cancer survivors. Studies have shown that if recognized early, and treatment begun at the initial stages, permanent swelling due to adipose tissue accumulation, as well as fibrotic skin changes and cellulitis, can often be avoided.

Ballancer®Pro uses low-pressure peristalsis to massage your lymphatic system to gently and thoroughly decongest areas of the body and release fluids and toxins, resulting in feeling and looking instantly rejuvenated.

Users typically experience weight loss from the removal of excess water and an increase in energy.  One massage can bring an instant short-term effect of drainage (instant loss of inches, relief of pain and aches, skin toning) but the continuity brings long-term results. A minimum of six sessions are recommended, better are twelve lymphatic drainage sessions within a few weeks.  Between each lymphatic drainage treatment, there should also be 24-48 hours to give the lymphatic system time to “condition.”
